Milton, NH-Based Literary Magazine Launches Nationwide

Shroud Magazine, a part time small press publishing endeavor launched just over a year ago, is on its way to retail bookshelves across the United States. The magazine, which features suspense and horror stories as well as art, articles and reviews, will be stocked at Barnes & Noble, Hastings Bookstores, and Folletts Bookstores nationwide.
Shroud Magazine is the flagship publication from Shroud Publishing, a part time project started by Tim Deal in 2007. Up until this month, Shroud has been distributed through a number of Internet outlets to include Amazon.com, independent online retailers and the magazine’s Website. Despite the limitations of these markets, Shroud Magazine has developed a loyal International readership and was even recommended for a British Fantasy Award for “Best Magazine.”
The nationwide launch of the magazine is expected to propel the publication out from its niche market position and into the mainstream, and owner/publisher Tim Deal believes that this will go far to build the magazine’s readership.
“There’s universal interest in imaginative and thrilling fiction, and Shroud provides an exceptional level of literate and intelligent escapism,” said Deal. “I may be a small publisher, but I work with some of the best authors and artists in the business, and Shroud Magazine is an excellent vehicle to showcase that talent. National distribution will provide the exposure we need to greatly build our audience.”
In addition to the magazine, Tim has published three anthologies, including BENEATH THE SURFACE, which has been a nominated for a prestigious Bram Stoker Award by the Horror Writers Association. Shroud is also releasing several novellas as well as a series entitled “The Scandalous Misadventures of Hiram Grange,” featuring a colorful antihero that does battle against the supernatural.
Shroud Magazine #6 will begin appearing on retail shelves over the next week and will contain 152 pages of suspense, horror and noir, as well as rare, never-before published- fiction from international best selling author, Rick Hautala. Shroud Magazine’s distributor has already placed the order for issue #7, which will release in July. Readers can also request that their particular store carry the publication.
