Angel Food Ministries Sends Needed Help to Three Georgia Hunger Advocacy Groups

Published June 5th, 2009

Angel Food Ministries (AFM) (www.angelfoodministries.com), an organization dedicated to providing affordable, high-quality food for families in need while also providing faith and encouragement through community host sites, is proud to also be in a position to assist people in dire need through regular donations of food to organizations that serve populations in crisis. This week, BAPS Shayona in Lilburn, Georgia; the Northern Georgia Food Bank in Athens, Georgia; and the Golden Rule Ministry in Butler, Georgia, received donated shipments of Angel Food to aid in their important work ministering to others.

“These are important agencies and the people they collectively reach are going through tougher times personally that most of us can appreciate. We are just blessed to be in a position to send something their way to show that there is hope and there are folks out there who can be relied upon to answer a call,” said Pastor Joseph Wingo, CEO of Angel Food Ministries.

BAPS Shayona is an organization dedicated to promoting vegetarianism in general as well as the devotional Hindu diet amongst practitioners of the faith. It is a nationally recognized 501(c)(3).

The Food Bank of Northeast Georgia works toward ending hunger as part of an overall effort to alleviate poverty. Its goals are to minimize and eliminate hunger by developing an effective system to acquire and distribute food and to increase individual and community awareness and action concerning hunger and poverty.

Golden Rule’s mission is to provide a solid recovery program for destitute, homeless women who have no financial resources and seemingly no hope for recovery. This ministry is based on the 12 steps of AA/NA as well as an ongoing program of spirituality.

Angel Food Ministries’ services are available for everyone, regardless of economic circumstances. There are no limits on the quantity of boxes purchased per individual, neither are there applications nor qualifications for eligibility. Angel Food Ministries currently serves millions of families across 41 states and the District of Columbia. Anyone can benefit by purchasing Angel Food.
