Band Together NC, a local nonprofit that raises awareness and funds for charities through events that showcase musical talent, is pleased to announce its volunteers have helped raise more than $123,000 so far for the Lucy Daniels Center for Early Childhood.
These funds have been mostly raised through sponsorships, direct donations and ticket sales. The presenting sponsor for this year is Cargill. A full listing of sponsors can be viewed at http://www.bandtogethernc.org/sponsors/current.aspx.
This year’s Band Together NC concert will take place, rain or shine, Saturday, June 6, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. in front of the Lincoln Theatre in downtown Raleigh. Doors will open at 5 p.m. The artist lineup for this year includes Rusted Root, The Rosebuds, Chatham County Line and a late-night, first-come first-serve party with Hobex. Last year’s event with George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic attracted more than 3,000 fans.
Attendees will enjoy great music, a festive atmosphere and the opportunity to bid on over 100 silent auction items such as a live painting, vacations, restaurant gift certificates, sports memorabilia and tickets, U2 concert tickets, a chance to ride the Zamboni during a Carolina Hurricanes game, spa packages and more.
“Our ability to raise over $120,000 for the Lucy Daniels Center during tough economic times is testament to the hard work and dedication of our board members, volunteers and the good folks from the Lucy Daniels Center,” said Danny Rosin, president and co-founder of Band Together NC. “There’s still time to purchase tickets to join us on June 6 and help us make a deeper impact during a time when these children need our help most.”
Tickets for the event can be purchased in advance for $20 or on the day of show for $25. VIP tickets are $125. Event attendees must be 21 years or older.
