Proceeds from Charity Online Auction generates $ 5,000 for the Farha Foundation
MONTREAL, QUEBEC – Organized by the magazine, Clin d’oil, Auction for Life has raised over $5,000 for the Farha Foundation, Quebec’s leading AIDS fundraising organization committed to help men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.
In the June 2008 issue, currently on newsstands, Clin d’oil asked 14 artists to personalize t-shirts on the theme of AIDS, which were auctioned online from May 1st-8th, 2008. During this period, the website registered over 15,000 visits and over 100,000 pages read.
The online auction alone raised $2,290 for its original designs, TVA Publications then added $710 to round off the number to $3,000. Lucky Brand Jeans, a partner in the event, also generously donated $2,000 to the Farha Foundation.
“We are very grateful to Clin d’oil, TVA Publications and Lucky Brand Jeans for their support. The $5,000 will be distributed to organizations that help men, women and children who live their lives with HIV/AIDS. Many would be surprised to see how even the smallest donation can make a bigger difference for some people and some organizations,” said Evelyn Farha, Honorary President of the Foundation and mother of the Foundation’s late founder, Ron Farha. “A very special thank-you to the 14 artists and the online bidders that helped make this event a success.”
