Goodmail Systems to Host Web Seminar about Consumer Email Perceptions and How They Impact a Brand

Published January 22nd, 2008

Goodmail Systems, creator of CertifiedEmail™, the industry’s standard class of trusted email, today announced that it will host a Web seminar featuring Julie Katz, an analyst with Forrester Research, and Jeanniey Mullen, executive director and senior partner of OgilvyOne Worldwide and founder of the Email Experience Council. Entitled “Consumer Email Perceptions: How They Impact Your Brand,” the Web seminar will take place on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 from 9-10 a.m. PST (12-1 p.m. EST). Katz and Mullen will examine the relationship between consumer email trust and brand image, divulge consumer perceptions about email and offer recommendations on how to make emails stand out in consumers’ inboxes.

“According to a recent survey we conducted about consumer perceptions of email, the average person receives anywhere from 20 to 30 messages every single day. This volume is astounding, and it is no surprise that nearly 80 percent of consumers say they get too much email,” said David Atlas, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Goodmail. “Perhaps what is most alarming for senders is that nearly 70 percent of respondents said they simply delete most of their email without reading them. These numbers indicate a fundamental truth—consumers’ perceptions of email matters to brand reputation and ultimately, the bottom line. We encourage senders to attend this Web seminar to learn from Julie Katz and Jeanniey Mullen, two of the industry’s most well-respected experts, about how trust is playing a larger role in consumers’ willingness to open and act upon the email that they receive.”
