SHARON STONE AUCTIONS CLASSIC CAR FOR AIDS RESEARCH

SHARON STONE helped raise $3 million (£1.5 million) for an AIDS charity at the Dubai International Film Festival on Monday (10Dec07) - by selling her luxury Lincoln Continental car.
The Casino star, who is a global fundraising chairman for the American Foundation For AIDS Research (amfAR), auctioned her classic 1961 vehicle to an unidentified bidder for $400,000 (£200,000).
Stone said, “We’re happy as artists to know that we’re coming together in the movie community to work in AIDS awareness.” Actors Hayden Christensen and Michelle Yeoh also attended the event, the proceeds from which are going to amFAR.
