AuctionPublicity.com - The directors of international fine arts auctioneers Bonhams & Butterfields are pleased to announce the appointment of Heather O’Mahony to the position of Regional Representative of the firm’s Seattle, Washington office. In her new position Mrs. O’Mahony will act as an advisor and liaison between the auctioneers and collections, estates and business opportunities in that city and its surrounding area.

Mrs. O’Mahony’s background and knowledge of the art and antiques world make her an incomparable candidate for the position. Leslie Wright, V.P. and Director of Trusts & Estates, commented, “Heather comes to us after a successful career incorporating many skills which will be a great benefit to our Seattle-area clients. We expect to see strong business alliances and much excitement from her region.”

Heather has had experience managing fine art collections in the Seattle area as well as across the globe. Her work at the Seattle Art Museum included coordination of projects within the Conservation Dept. relating to the newly expanded downtown Seattle gallery and the city’s Asian Art Museum, among others. She has been employed with both the Galleria Biagiotti in Florence and The Guggenheim Museum in Venice, Italy and worked with the Microsoft Art Collection as well as several important Seattle-based private collections and estates, one of which maintained as many as 250 works of art.

Having earned her degree at the University of Washington, including overseas studies at the Universita di Pisa and Richmond University in Florence, Heather worked for Sotheby’s in Seattle and has volunteered in support of Seattle’s Black & White Ball, and several arts events and auctions in support of the city’s Partnership for Youth and other local organizations.
