Drive-Time DJ Jeff Wicker To Serve as Emcee/Auctioneer for Charity Event in Downtown Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Jeff Wicker, 98.7 Simon’s morning drive-time DJ, has volunteered to serve as emcee and auctioneer for a charitable dinner and art auction to be held at Café Pasta Grille in downtown Greensboro on Monday, November 5.
The dinner/auction is the first fundraising effort for The Gatewood Center and Greensboro and Thomasville group homes operated by the RHA Howell network of care centers for severely disabled children and adults. After a day of take-out lunches provided by the restaurant, the evening events will include cocktails, a buffet dinner, live jazz, and an auction of original art by North Carolina artists along with pottery by Gatewood residents.
“I’m looking so forward to this night,” Wicker said recently. ” Anytime I can be part of an event that helps to enrich the lives of others, count me in. We are going to have a blast at the auction raising money to help our friends. Make sure you bring an empty stomach and a full wallet. See you there!”
Jeff Wicker of “The Wicker Show” is originally from Ohio but he grew up in Charlotte and graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a degree in psychology. He has been a DJ at 98.7 Simon for three years and has interviewed such notables as Elton John, Puff Daddy, Destiny’s Child, and Governor Mike Easley.
